MP Transfer Cases use a newly-designed shift motor which requires the control module to undergo a learning process to set its position properly.  There are several differences between the transfer cases beyond the control system. Some are minor while others will create major parts interchange problems if you try to install the incorrect parts for the unit that you’re working on.
